Code of Conduct

At Men Roping Men, we strive to create a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for all attendees, speakers, and event staff. Our Code of Conduct outlines the behavior we expect from everyone participating in any of our events.

  1. Respect: Treat every person and every interaction with respect, regardless of gender identity, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, disability, age, religion, or any other characteristic. Name badges will be provided and should be used as your benchmark for addressing attendees by their correct name and gender pronouns.
  2. Consent: Acknowledge that all activities and interactions among participants, both physical and verbal, should be precluded by explicit and enthusiastic consent to ensure the safety of all parties involved. In the context of verbal roleplay, do not address another attendee (or expect to be addressed by another attendee) as Sir, boy, Master, slave, gimp, etc. unless mutually agreed by both parties.
  3. Drug & Alcohol Use: Refrain from the consumption of illegal drugs at Men Roping Men conferences and events, as this is strictly prohibited. In terms of alcohol, cannabis, or any other controlled substance, whether medically prescribed or otherwise, all participants have a personal obligation to act responsibly. Any attendee who appears visibly impaired by event or venue staff may be asked to leave until the impairment is resolved. No drinking, smoking, or vaping is permitted during classes, performances, or within any designated dungeon space(s). Please also obey any additional rules or restrictions imposed by hotel and/or venue staff where applicable.
  4. Confidentiality: Respect the privacy of others by refraining from sharing any personal information or details discussed during workshops, presentations, or conversations without the explicit consent of all parties involved. See further below under “Photography and Recording” for additional considerations.
  5. Inclusivity: Foster an inclusive environment by welcoming individuals from diverse backgrounds and experiences. Avoid language or behavior that may exclude or marginalize others.
  6. Harassment-Free Environment: Harassment of any kind, including (but not limited to) verbal, physical, sexual, or emotional harassment, will not be tolerated. This includes unwelcome advances, offensive comments, and disruptive behavior.
  7. Photography and Recording: Respect the privacy of attendees and speakers by refraining from taking photographs, videos, or recordings unless you have their explicit consent to be photographed or recorded. Even if you plan to blur or crop out someone in the background, you have an obligation to express where/if/how any aspect of their likeness may be used so they can give informed consent. Featured instructors and performers may have their own guidelines for photography and videography, so please be aware of this. When in doubt, ask first!
  8. Compliance with Laws and Policies: Abide by all local laws and venue policies. Any illegal activities or behavior that violates the conference's Code of Conduct will result in immediate removal from the event without a refund.
  9. Accountability: Hold yourself and others accountable for upholding the Code of Conduct. If you witness or experience behavior that violates these guidelines, speak up or report it to conference staff.
  10. Consequences: Violations of this Code of Conduct may result in consequences including (but not limited to) warnings, expulsion from the event without a refund, and prohibition from attending future MRM conferences or events.

By participating in Men Roping Men, you agree to adhere to this Code of Conduct and help create a welcoming and respectful environment for all attendees and staff.
