Master R. (b. 1997, Brooklyn, New York) is a queer artist whose work centers on the practice of shibari. His rope practice centers on expressing the internal and external dynamics of Dominant and submissive relationships. Master R. is also an active community educator and organizer, producing events such as Bound Affairs: A Living Shibari Gallery and Out Young N Kinky (OYNK), and monthly panel focused on kink education. He also is a rope instructor at MMX, Knotty New York, and is the instructor at a shibari club for 3 universities. Master R.’s work and perspective have been profiled in Envy Magazine, Sensitive Content Magazine, and at Art Prism in Philadelphia. Master R.’s work is an amalgamation of several different styles of shibari.
